The Crowne Plaza puts itself firmly on the Merseyside map
Liverpool's well known Crowne Plaza hotel continues its year of growth and re-development with a refresh of its current brand which was announced today.
Following Liverpool's worldwide success during 2008 and the Crowne Plaza's expansion to other locations in the region, the hotel feels the time is right to align its brand with the city centre and place it firmly on the map. The hotel shall now be known as Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre and according to the group represents a small but significant change.
Stephen Roberts, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre and Chair of the Liverpool Hoteliers Association commented: "We have become increasingly aware of how the city has seen a great deal of change over the past year.
"We are proud of our brand and proud of the city we work in. This refresh to our brand, although small reflects the success we have enjoyed since opening our doors ten years ago and how Liverpool has contributed to this."
He added: "We believe this change is the right commercial decision now, given the brand's clear growth. In making any change, our objective is to provide a strong platform for long-term development."
This comes on the back of a period of major investment in the hotel which has seen over £3.5 Million on refurbishments, updating all 159 bedrooms and giving the ground floor area a complete facelift which included opening an exclusive business club lounge - the only one in the city.
