Liverpool City Region Employers Coalition

Stephen Roberts, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre, has been appointed as Chair of the Liverpool City Region Employers Coalition.

He replaces outgoing chairman Alan Walker OBE, Finance Controller at Jaguar Cars Ltd.

The Coalition is a group of influential employers who are leaders in their sector and work together to make the Liverpool City Region a better place to live and work.

They support the planning and delivery of publicly-funded employment and skills programmes, and assist local businesses to meet the demand for a multi-skilled and flexible workforce.

Mr Roberts, who is also Chair of the Liverpool Hoteliers Association, said: "An exciting renaissance is happening in Merseyside, with the transformation and regeneration of the city and surrounding areas.

"We are working together with Jobcentre Plus and numerous local businesses to get people trained and into jobs, and improve the skilled workforce across the Liverpool City Region.

"I am proud to be leading the Coalition forward into a new decade and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead."

Coalition Board members include directors and managers from organisations such as Liverpool City Council, Merseyside Police, Aintree NHS Trust and the Federation of Small Businesses.
