HMS Liverpool's Final Departure
HMS Liverpool will make her final visit to Liverpool before she is taken out of service.
The Captain and crew have become firm friends of the Crowne Plaza Liverpool as we have our own meeting room named after HMS Liverpool.
She will be birthed outside the hotel from 29th Feb until 5th March and the company will take part in a full program of events to celebrate the ships links with the hotel and the city forged originally when she was laid down across the river at Birkenhead’s Cammell Laird in 1978.
Finished in 1982 and celebrating 30 years at sea she has just finished an extensive tour of duty off the coast of Libya and was used to support forces helping to bring down the fall of Gaddafi.
HMS Liverpool's final departure will include gun salutes as she will undertake a full sail past of the cities world heritage waterfront and the Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre.
