Crowne Plaza staff celebrate success at hotel awards
Five members of staff at the Liverpool City Centre Crowne Plaza were recognised at the Centre Island hotel group national awards.
The glamorous ceremony took place last week at the Pier Head-based hotel.
The awards recognise Centre Island employees who have made outstanding contributions to the continuing success of their hotel.
Crowne Plaza Liverpool City Centre had three winners: Tory Harper, Support Person of the Year; Gemma Kenny, New Entrant of the Year and Stephanie Cannell, Manager of the Year. Tom Meara and Cheryl Mulvey were runners up in the Receptionist of the Year and Chef of the Year respectively.
Stephen Roberts, the hotel's General Manager, said: "It's been a hard year for the tourism industry as a whole, but to begin 2010 with such fantastic achievements by my staff is a fantastic start. For us to win in so many categories reflects how hard the staff work and I'm thrilled for them."
The nominations were open to all employees across the country within the Centre Island group, which includes hotels in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Preston and the Wirral.
